Lasagna is by far one of the world’s best foods. It doesn’t get much better than the multiple layers of multiple cheeses sandwiched together by pasta and flavored with garlic. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The problem with lasagna, though, is the time that it takes to cook it. As moms, we know that dinner sometimes needs to be quick. Between work and activities with the kids, we don’t have enough hours in the day to make an involved meal every single night. One of the go-tos in our house is homemade pizza. It’s definitely fast, but some nights it’s not fast enough. We need something else to use as a pizza crust. (more…)
This past week, Aldi has had avocados on sale for $0.49 each! I love avocados but the thought of spending a dollar (or sometimes more) on one piece of fruit just doesn’t sit well with me. Not to mention, I have a hard time timing the eating of them right. I know that you are supposed to buy them when they are somewhat tender but, I swear, whether I buy them hard as a rock, squishy, or somewhere in between, at least half of it is bad when I open it. So, half of my dollar goes to waste. I have learned now, though, that Aldi is really the only place you should buy avocados. Not only are they half the price of other chain grocers, they are not half disgusting when you peel them. (more…)
I love spinach. Story, not so much. So I try to sneak it in recipes as often as I can. This recipe is one of my favorites. Because Story helps in the kitchen now, she knows that there is spinach in it, but she still loves it. That is most definitely a win! Did I mention this is cheesy?
I’ve been craving barbecue sauce for quite some time. Typically, I keep some on hand. Barbecue cravings are few and far between for me, typically occurring in the summer. When I reached for my supply, however, I was shocked to see that it had expired in 2013. I suppose those cravings are a little farther between than I thought. (more…)
