Mess-Free Painting!

About a month or two ago, a co-worker brought in a case full of little blue bottles with roller caps. She had purchased them for a business endeavor that she never got around to and was hoping they would find a good home. At first, I resisted the urge to bring these little cutie bottles home. Sure, I could find something fun to do with them, but I have a cabinet full of things I could someday do something fun with. Not to mention I was purging the house at the time.

So there those bottles sat and the lonelier they seemed. Then I had the best idea in the world! Okay, not the best. But don’t you think every idea is the best idea in the world when it first comes to you?

These little bottles with their little rollers would make the best mess-free paint dispensers!

So they came home with me and I tried my little experiment. At first, it was a flop. The paint was too thick to come through the roller. Discouraged but not giving up, I added a little water to each and stirred with a toothpick. Success!

We had a lot of fun making pictures of spring scenes as we anticipated spring weather starting. And the best part was, there was no paint mess anxiety!
