I’m excited about these. They are delicious, but then, I’ve always known that. Each Christmas, there is at least one get-together at which someone has these proudly displayed on their spread, and I park myself by them trying to be discreet about how many I’m eating. Not only are they delicious, they are also cute. Pinterest worthy. My treats never turned out like those. I had full dessert envy.
So when my mom suggested that we make these during our Christmas cookie decorating day, I was excited and thought it would probably take forever. But, Christmas cookie day takes a long time anyway, so what’s a couple more hours? We got out the ingredients. My heart raced a little faster when I saw my mom had chosen Ghirardelli chocolates. Excellent choice. I was surprised to see that the only other ingredients we had to fetch were pretzels and sprinkles. It was not the elaborate setup I thought we’d need. Then we began to assemble them. It was simple! I was shocked, delighted, and scared. Shocked at the ease. Delighted that I could now make these whenever I want. Scared that I now can make them whenever I want.
- Set up your dipping station. You will need a surface to lay the pretzels on. We used a cookie sheet and wax paper.
- Melt the chocolate wafers according to packaged directions. Make sure that you use a bowl that will not get too hot to the touch. You'll likely be holding it while you dip.
- Hold pretzels on one side and dip the other side in the melted chocolate. Tap on the side of the bowl to get off the excess chocolate.
- If you are doing this alone, dip a couple of pretzels and then sprinkle the dipped side. If you are doing this with someone else, assign one person to the dipping and one person to the sprinkling.
See, wasn’t that simple? Enjoy!
