November has been gloriously warm. So much so that our local ice cream shop has decided to stay open an extra two weeks! If that isn’t something to be thankful for, I don’t know what is. Alas, this particular ice cream store is on the other side of town. A whole fifteen minutes away. When you write it, it doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but it make for an excursion with two kids. I couldn’t let this warm spell go by without proper recognition, so we added some vanilla ice cream to our cart at the grocery store. Already in the cart was some apple cider I planned to use for an upcoming
dinner (stay tuned!). Sitting next to each other in the shopping cart, they seemed like the perfect match. And so, our apple
cider floats were born. Sweet and tart at the same time, they are not like your typical root beer float. It’s a different taste experience. A welcoming of fall and a goodbye to summer.
- This is so simple, it doesn't even need step-by-step instructions. Simply scoop the ice cream into your desired cup and pour desired amount of apple cider over top. Spruce it up with a little pumpkin pie spice sprinkled on top. Happy fall!
